Featuring Sunday V Style. Grab yourself or someone you love a luxury hand bag for the holidays!
I am so excited to announce the second featured artist that I have had the greatest pleasure of working with: Valentina from Sunday V Style. You have seen her bags featured already in our Alice skirt release and they are so so cute!
One of the things I love to do the most is encourage new artists to follow their passion and chase their dreams. When I see a good artist that has worked hard at their craft and has quality work, I often want to share that with you all. I know you also appreciate makers as you are here supporting me. So, I am taking the liberty of sharing artists & products with you that I love. The thing is, It wasn't that long ago that I was sitting in my very own dining room with one singular sewing machine, some thread, a couple yards of fabric and some dye. I had some big ideas with no idea how I was going to get there.
So I understand that glow and passion in another artists voice when they talk about their hand made business and I felt that passion from Valentina the first moment I spoke to her. In fact, she was brimming with so much excitement, she came up to me during the first break on the first day of class. She had heard me mention my business when we did introductions around the room. I could tell she was thirsty for knowledge and passionate to see her business grow. She wanted to talk shop, and I soak that up! I remember being just as interested in her business as she was in mine.
Valentina has the most adorable Italian accent & the cutest freckles you've ever seen! She is passionate about her craft and works endlessly on her patterns, construction and workmanship. I was able to visit her little home studio earlier in the month and see where she brings these bags to life. She has the cutest little downtown San Diego studio, with a little outside garden.
I can tell that she takes care in every bag design she makes, spending time to perfect her patterns. Her stitch work is precision. I love that she uses old school traditional methods, creating each stitch hole with an awl perfectly spaced & aligned together. This is a method of sewing that isn't widely used very often in our fast fashion movement. It takes a lot of time and dedication to your craft to get to the skill level that she is at and I want to take a moment to honor her for that.
Valentina has given me a few of her pieces to share with you. Each piece is one of a kind, crafted from Italian leather. When you purchase a bag from Sunday V Style you aren't just purchasing a quality gorgeous new bag that will last you a lifetime, you are supporting a local San Diego artists dreams. Which is a pretty huge deal!
Take a moment to shop the collection & perhaps take a bag home this holiday season:
