Wool is the perfect diaper cover because:
- Wool can absorb almost 30% of its body weight in
moisture.
- Wool breathes unlike PUL, therefore airing out your
baby's skin even as it gets wet.
- Wool has natural lanolin, that repels water therefore
your baby (and you!) stays dry on the outside. It may feel
warm and slightly damp overtime, this is normal and a
great indicator so your baby doesn't sit in a wet diaper
very long.
- Our wool is Oeko-Tex Certified, and buttery soft to the
touch, rest assured your baby will feel cozy and
comfortable in their wool pants/shorts/cover.
- You don't need to wash your wool after every wear
(unless your child poops on it). Wool has natural
anti-bacterial qualities. Wash your wool every few weeks
unless you notice stains.

Machine Washing- You can
machine wash your wool from us, as long as you are careful
with the temperature of the water. Wash your wool on warm,
gentle cycle. Make sure your warm water is just slightly
warm to the touch/slightly above room temperature, if you
have set your water heater on a higher temperature for
washing diapers, it is probably best you use the hand
washing technique below. Use about 1 small drop of dawn
dishwashing soap or a drop of detergent (with no bleach
added). Than, set your wool on a towel to dry.
Hand Washing- First rinse your wool to remove the
poopy/urine. Than, fill your sink basin with luke-warm
water, splash around about 1TSP of your favorite wool wash
(if you use a bar, just lather it with your hands). Swoosh
your wool around with your hands for a few seconds, let is
sit about 2-3 minutes. Remove your wool, squeeze out the
water by rolling it in a towel. Do not ring out your wool,
it will cause it lose its shape/stretch. Than, set your
wool on a towel to dry.
Lanolizing- I suggest lanolizing your wool after
every 2-3rd wash or so (or when your wool starts to leak).
Wash your wool first using one of the above methods. Than,
fill your sink basin with luke-warm water. I suggest using
an empty bottle, putting about 1/2tsp of lanolin (per
cover, wash your covers separately), 1 dash of baby
shampoo, and warm water, than shake it around unless the
lanolin has melted. Pour that solution into the sink,
swoosh around. Add your wool garment. Let it sit for no
longer than 10 minutes. Do not rinse your wool. Squeeze
out the water by rolling it in a towel. Do not ring out
your wool, it will cause it lose its shape/stretch. Than,
set your wool on a towel to dry.
